Our Team Medical Team Ivan Guerrero, M.D. co-founded HOPE Across the Globe, a 501(c)3 medical and social services organization, in 2011. Dr Guerrero is a Board-Certified Infectious Disease Specialist who has been practicing in the Jacksonville, Florida area for more than two decades. He graduated from Universidad Nacional Mayor De San Marcos, Facultad De Medicina and completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and then a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Guerrero specializes in adult infectious disease medicine and tropical medicine.Dr. Guerrero is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Academy of HIV Medicine and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He holds Medical Staff privileges at Baptist Medical Center-Nassau, Jacksonville, Beaches and South, He also practices at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside and Memorial Hospital. He has provided extensive humanitarian medical services in South America and he speaks Spanish and English. Pablo Pella, M.D. co-founded HOPE Across the Globe, a 501(c)3 medical and social services organization, in 2011. Dr Pella has been practicing Infectious Diseases in the Jacksonville, Florida area for more than two decades. He received his medical degree from Universidad de Panama Faculty of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He received his Medical Degree from the Universidad de Panama/Facultad de Medicina and completed his post graduate training in Internal Medicine at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in Bronx, New York and his Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at New York Medical College in Stamford, Connecticut. After achieving Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, he relocated to his birth state of Florida to begin his private practice, joining Baptist Health System.Dr. Pella is a member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He holds Medical Staff privileges at Baptist Medical Center and Memorial Hospital. He does widespread humanitarian medical work in Central America. He speaks Spanish and English. Yesenia Baez, APRN is a board-certified Acute Care Advanced Practice registered nurse who has been practicing in Infectious Diseases since 2009. She graduated with a master’s in nursing from the University of Florida in 2008 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics as well as Nursing from The University of North Florida. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is also a member of American Academy of HIV Medicine. She holds staff privileges and practices at Baptist Medical Center Nassau, Baptist Medical Center South, Memorial Hospital and St. Vincent’s Southside. Mrs. Baez has extensive experience in primary care and Infectious Diseases. She provides care for HOPE patients in both genres and speaks both Spanish and English.
